How to Play

Goal

Beat the dealer by getting a hand total as close to 21 as possible without going over (busting).

Setup

  • You start with 1000 chips
  • Place your bet before each round using the chip buttons
  • You and the dealer each receive 2 cards — one dealer card stays face-down

Card Values

  • Number cards (2–10) = face value
  • Jack, Queen, King = 10
  • Ace = 11 or 1 (whichever keeps your total ≤ 21)

Actions

  • Hit — take another card
  • Stand — end your turn, let the dealer play
  • Double Down — double your bet and take exactly one more card

Winning

  • Win: your total beats the dealer → earn your bet
  • Blackjack (Ace + 10-value on first 2 cards) → 1.5× payout
  • Bust (over 21) → lose your bet immediately
  • Push (tie) → bet returned unchanged
FAQ

What is Double Down?

Double Down doubles your current bet and deals you exactly one more card, then your turn ends. It's best used when your total is 10 or 11 and you're likely to draw a 10-value card.

What happens on a tie?

A tie (push) means both you and the dealer have the same total. Your bet is returned — you neither win nor lose chips.

Is my best chip count saved?

Yes — your highest chip count is saved automatically in your browser's local storage and persists between sessions.

What is a natural Blackjack?

A natural Blackjack is when your first two cards are an Ace and any 10-value card (10, J, Q, K). It pays 1.5×, so a 100-chip bet wins 150 chips. The dealer also wins automatically with a natural Blackjack.

When does the dealer stop drawing?

The dealer must draw cards until their total reaches 17 or higher, then they must stand.
