Goal

Claim the most discs on the 8×8 board. Place your disc to outflank at least one opponent disc — any opponent discs trapped between your new disc and another of yours (in a straight line) flip to your color.

VS AI

You play as ⚫ (Black) and go first. The AI plays as ⚪ (White) and uses a greedy strategy, favouring corners and edges.

VS Friend

Two players share the same device. ⚫ (Black / P1) always goes first.

Controls

• Click or tap a highlighted cell to place your disc
• Semi-transparent dots show all valid moves on your turn
• If you have no valid moves your turn is skipped automatically

Scoring

Your personal best (highest ⚫ disc count at game end) is saved in your browser and shown in the Best stat.

What counts as a valid move?

A cell is valid if placing your disc there would flip at least one opponent disc — meaning at least one straight line (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal) runs from your new disc through one or more opponent discs and ends on one of your existing discs.

What if I have no valid moves?

Your turn is skipped and your opponent plays again. If neither player has a valid move the game ends immediately and discs are counted regardless of how many empty cells remain.

Is my best disc count saved?

Yes — your highest ⚫ disc count at game end is saved in your browser's local storage under the key mini-reversi-best and persists between sessions.
