🎲

Domino

Match tiles end-to-end. Empty your hand to score your opponent's pips.

One round decides the winner.

How to Play

Goal

Be the first to reach 100 points across multiple rounds. Empty your hand each round to score the total pip value of your opponent's remaining tiles.

Placing Tiles

Click a tile to select it, then click ← Left or Right → to place it on the matching open end of the chain. The touching pips must match.

Drawing

If you have no valid tile to play, click Draw to take a tile from the boneyard. Keep drawing until you can play or the boneyard is empty.

Blocked Game

If both players are stuck (no valid plays, empty boneyard), the player with the lower pip total wins and scores the difference.

Scoring

Points are awarded at the end of each round:

  • You empty your hand — you score the sum of all pips left in the AI's hand (e.g. AI holds [3|2] and [4|1] → you score 10).
  • AI empties its hand — AI scores the sum of all pips left in your hand.
  • Blocked game — the player with the lower pip total wins and scores the difference between the two totals.
  • Tied blocked game — both totals are equal, no points scored.

The first player to reach 100 points wins the match.

Difficulty

  • Easy — AI plays a random valid tile
  • Medium — AI prefers highest-value valid tile
  • Hard — AI plays strategically, minimizing exposed ends and blocking
FAQ

Who goes first?

The player holding the highest double (6-6, then 5-5, etc.) places it first. If neither player has a double, the player with the highest-valued tile goes first.

Can I place a tile on both ends?

Yes! If your tile matches both open ends, you choose which side to play. Both buttons (← Left and Right →) will appear.

Is my best score saved?

Yes — your highest total score is saved in your browser's local storage between sessions.

What happens when the boneyard is empty?

If you can't play and there are no tiles left to draw, you must pass. If both players pass consecutively, the game is blocked and the lower-pip-count player wins the round.
